Pressure

As a young kid, we are led to believe that the only way to get into your dream future, is get Straight A's and do lots of extracurricular activities. And you're going down that path, be careful. I'm not here to stop you or persuade you or to fail all your classes. Just remember this. Don't let people force you into doing things you don't want to do. Here is my story.

When my parents first introduced chess to me, I was amazed. There was so much detail and strategy behind it. I liked it so my parents sent me to a chess class. And then finally a tournament. I was about 10 when this happened. All I remember of this incident was that I hated it. I found no source of joy or fun in those 6 hours in that room. I lost all my games. My parents asked me if I wanted to do another one. I wanted to say no...but I couldn't. I wanted to make myself proud and my parents proud. Even if I hated it. So I went to tournament after tournament, losing and winning and crying each time. The pressure of making my loved ones happy and proud was killing me. I wanted to be good. But, I couldn't.

I went to over 40 tournaments. And they were all hell. Every single one. Last April, I decided I couldn't take it anymore. I was done. No matter how disappointed they are, I would still say no. We got into so many fights and crying fits over chess. To me, it was the worst game in the world. I couldn't handle it. So I called it quits. After that talk, the amount of pressure that lifted off me was amazing. I joined coding in place of that, and I love it. I made lots of programs, even a small choose your adventure game. I realized that in the end, its not about everyone else that matters. Its about you. Don't let other people influence you. If you win, you should be proud of yourself. You should try to make yourself happy first, then move on to others.

Don't succumb to pressure. Gain a hold of your surroundings. And think. Make yourself happy. Not your parents or teachers. Yourself.

Changing Seats

Take a deep breath and start

As I walked into class, I saw a group of kids crowded around a piece paper. This only meant one thing -- a new seating chart.

Make eye contact with audience

It was either hit or miss, you sit next to your BFF or Crush or you don’t.

As I located my seat on the chart, I moved my heavy backpack to the table.

I checked my surroundings and I heard a loud thud next to me. I turned my head and saw the class clown plop his big chair next to me.

Option: Imitate plopping down my backpack?

I grumbled underneath my breath. Well this so called person, let us name him Bob, was not the brightest person in the bunch. He bothered everyone around and always was goofing. \(o < o)/

Of course, I didn’t want to associate with him so avoided him. I didn’t talk to him, I didn’t help him, and others did the same. Everyone thought he was a bad person, a corrupted human being

a outcast.

Get voice soft when mentioning the human being part

One day, we had our first group project, and my group consisted of two people: me and Bob.

Bob was quiet for most of the time, surprisingly.  As I was finishing up the timeline, I looked up to Bob to ask for a pencil sharpener, when I found a tear was running down his cheek.

Get soft at tear part.

I was taken aback by his mood but I didn’t want to provoke him so I left him alone. I glanced back up at him a few minutes later and I saw him crying more. This time I knew I had to do something, so I asked him…”Hey, are you ok?”. He looked up on me, not with his evil teasing mocking look I imagined but with a genuinely sad face.

Get soft at sad face part.

HE said,”It’s nothing”. I felt worried for him and I said back ,”There is something wrong. What’s going on?”. HE replied,”Why do people hate me?”.

Have a strong tone in last part

I was surprised at this sudden remark. “Hate you?” I replied. “Yeah. Why do people think that I’m a jackass, why do people loathe me, why do people, like you, avoid me? Why am I always alone! Is it because I’m dumb or is it because I’m retarded, or is it because I smoke? What is it with this world?” he said.

Pause.

I didn’t know what to say. At once he poured out more of all his bottled up emotion into one crying fit to me. Me. A complete stranger.

Slow down on last part

Kids were looking at us but I ignored them. I realized as was crying that he did all these “bad” things for attention. He wanted people to know who he was and talk to them. But he couldn’t. His family had a broken past that scared people, he had a menacing look , he tried to fit in by stealing,robbing,smoking, and etc.

Sad eye contact with audience.

I was speechless. From that day one ward, my mission was to help him get friends

I taught him how to talk, communicate,listen, and stop smoking. By the end of the quarter, he was changed into a whole different person. People loved him.

Pause

Then the teacher put up another seating chart. To me, I realized this chart was a gateway to new worlds,friends, and adventures. Everyone around you has their own pasts, things we don’t know, stories we’ve never heard. When we get older, this is a very important skill in life, because everywhere we communicate. Everywhere we talk.

Breath.

When you have the choice to sit where you want, sit away from your friends. Sit somewhere new and exciting. Do new things, not the same old things. Meet new Personalities and meet new friends. Every person has their own story to share with the world.

Prompt: Summer is the best and worst of times. Why? Answer thoroughly.

Summer?😀😀 or 😢😢

I think summer is the best time of the year. I also think summer is the worst time of the year. Wait what? Every summer, life flashes before you. You are led to believe that this “flash” is supposed to be the greatest time of your life. It could be…… but it probably isn’t. Here’s why:

Let’s start with the happy songs of summer. Kids get out of school all over the world. They don’t need to worry about their D in Spanish and parents could finally take a dose of relief. No worries, right? The whole summer, you don’t have to do homework. You could eat ice cream and you could play sports with your friends. You can hold all the Nerf parties you want! You could take a vacation to a far away land. You could taste the milk of Wisconsin or the noodles in Japan. The summer is your open world. People could be a fun camp experience. You could go to camp with your friends in the wild and swing on the ropes into the lake. You could smell the fresh barbecue right of the grill or the pizza in the oven. Shopping stores welcome new types of fashion each year! You could buy new T-shirts topped with some nice khakis. Girls could get uhhh….I don’t know, sorry I am a boy. For those introverts, you could sleep in… as long as you want. Each summer, blockbuster movies pop out! Its insane!

Now I am going to contradict everything I just said. Parents still have to work knowing that their kids are out of school. Their kids just lost their leashes! You know that D in Spanish?You have to retake Spanish. The whole summer you have to worry about that class. Kids have to take summer school to get out of it. Ice cream stores will be packed, so you don’t get any ice cream. IF you are a INdian, you know what your summer is. Indians go to India….almost every year! No where else!IF you go to camp than Mosquitos will eat your blood and raccoons could eat your food! You lose all daily contact with your friends. You can’t see your colleagues anymore. The constant heat can be unbearable. So unbearable, people could get mentally injured. Summer is your 3 month long period of boringness. Your friends will be out of the house. You would be all alone sitting in the corner of the room.

Summer is a controversial topic. At least it is something to look forward to!

Boring

Everyday we wake up at 5:30 to get ready for school. We eat some bread or cereal and we head off. The day trudges along. You do your work. eat, and then sleep. After that, it is rinse and repeat. Boring right? So let me spice it up for you. Here are some things you can do to have some fun during your boring day.

1. While in math, drum your fingers on your neighbors desk. Make them mad and then do something else to piss them off. This way you can start conversations. ( just  kidding)

2. Make personal challenges. For example, you can plan to change out of P.E clothes first out of your friends. Why? So you could get to the lunch line faster.

3. Doodle. Doodling is fun but your neighbors may think you are crazy.

4. Pick up a book you thought you would never read at the library. Read it and see if you actually like it!

5. Try to get to your classes faster than your friends!

6. Eat your lunch while waiting for the teacher to call you in the classroom.

7. Try to do your work upside down. (bonus: try to do your work mirrored!)

8. Look forwards towards the future. You never know what is going to happen.

Why?

Why? Why are we alive? What is our point in life? Is our main purpose to invent stuff or play video games? Why do are we encouraged to get good grades in school? WHAT IS LIFE? This was the life-long question I have running through my head. Every day I go to school thinking we are trained to do this. I think we are just human robots running around doing the same thing again and again from getting new crushes to getting completely drunk. This is just one of the many thoughts that run through kids. But in deeper understanding at a higher level, there is something else that we don't see. We don't see that life is short. We don't see that we can all do something we want. We don't see that our lives are full of memories  waiting to be kindled again. We don't see that people don't program lives and that we see that we make our lives. Our future, our fate, are all in our hands. In my old school, our principal used to say our future is in our hands. No one knew what the hell that meant in our elementary school. That's because people don't believe that we make our lives successful. We only believe in how to get over one exam and relax. To answer your question, life is what you make it. Life is all up to you. You write your story of life. Relive your memories, experience life at your fullest. We don't what happens when we die. We don't know if we got to heaven or hell or nowhere.Just work hard and your "life's"  successes will be forever known. Duked Ch.1

One day there was a man. This man's name was Duke but he was known as the ONE. I will explain this later. This young man was only 13 years old and he was a magic warrior. The only bad thing was: he didn't know this. He was an orphan who had been taken in by an ugly mean family. Sound familiar? This is not Harry Potter,just saying. So,anyways this evil family treated him very bad and he was very annoyed. Meanwhile, their 13-year-old daughter, Jessie,  was very well-treated. She got all the presents and fame from her parents, Tom Stone and Tulip Stone.  Tom and Tulip found Duke in an abandoned car. They took him in and he slept under their bed. Now Duke was sleeping in his own room: inside a closet. The Stones were very rich and smart. But they were greedy for fame and fortune. To save money, Duke's clothes were made out of potato sacks instead of cloth. One sad April morning someone knocked down the door. The Stones were frightened as a short man walked in with a nametag saying his name was Nock. And Nock was not very happy. This was mainly concluded because Nock was holding a long silver club and a very mad face.

It has been a long time guys... BUT I'M BACK!!!!

And so has Pokemon Go! Everyone knows Pokemon and their awesome characters. Pikachu and Charamander and Blastoise and Rattata. Pokemon has grown so much since when it first started. And so, as the 20th birthday, they released Pokemon GO. What is this app? Its a app that brings Pokemon to life!!(on your phone...It would be cool though if you could throw a REAL Pokeball at a REAL Pokemon) Anyways,it was a blockbuster. Nostalgia soared into people;s hearts. Now everywhere I walk I see a Nidoran popping up on my screen or something. My dad has been going nuts and cashews about it. Everyday I see him throwing a Pokemon at Ekans and Pidgeys.  Both of us are at level 18 and we have an Arcanine, Jolteon, Vaporean, etc. Now here's the question: Is Pokemon Go fever going to last for a long? Lets go over some facts:

First of all, its clear that Nintendo is going to add more Pokemon from other generations(Gen 2 - 7)

Second of all, think about Stack and Clash Royale. These were apps that are humongous in popularity until it slowly fell down.Clash Royale is still known quite well though.

So from this we know that soon the app will fall. But it does not seem like that. For a month now it has been going big and strong.  They have been updating the game a lot so it seems to be going pretty good.

Answer(to question,duh): Yep, it is going to "go"(get it?) for a long time but I think slowly it will fizzle out. But if Nintendo updates it regularly I think it is gonna have a long life.

Besides this app makes you walk and talk to other team members(VALLLLOOOORRRRRRR...sorry
